Library Staff from three regional public library systems in Nova Scotia share their work partnering with community organizations to provide health & wellness related programming.

Hilary Skov-Nielson will speak about the different partnerships Halifax Public Libraries has with health and wellness organizations and how these partnerships enrich library programs and services, and help to support health literacy in the community. Roseanne Gauthier will speak about the PEI Public Library Service's experiences partnering with community groups to encourage wellness and healthy relationships among Island families, especially those with young children. Given the recent acknowledgement by the medical community of the health benefits of knitting and crocheting, Chris Thomson and Lisa Mulak will talk about the successful High Fibre Lunch programs and the annual Cape Breton Regional Library (CBRL) KnitFit Community Knit-a-thon charity fundraiser held at the McConnell Library. To provide this programming, CBRL involves many aspects of the community including local grocers and bakeries, local and regional yarn stores, artisans and primary suppliers, and finished items are donated to many local charities.
